But Jesus said, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children."  Matthew 19:14

Welcome to the Children's Ministry page. We are so glad you have visited today and hope we will get the opportunity to meet you and your family real soon!

Our passion is that every child experience the love and grace of God through a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Children's Ministry team seeks to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for building friendships and learning about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.

Sunday school classes for all ages through 12th grade begin at 9:30am. Our Children's Church (K-6th grade) starts at 10:45am. Here is a brief overview of what a typical children's church worship service at KWA looks like:

In August 2017, we completely changed how Children's Church was done at King's Way. Gone are the days of having a second class that follows Sunday School. Instead, we have created a complete worship service for our kids: an environment where they learn, give, pray, serve, and praise as a congregation of kids.

On any given Sunday, the children's service looks a LOT like the main service in the sanctuary. We start with praise and worship. During this time, we have someone different run the PowerPoint each week. Kids sometimes volunteer to come up and sing with a microphone, and we've even had kids share their talents on instruments. This kind of participation is never discouraged as we want kids to want to be involved!

Following praise and worship, we generally make any announcements that need to be shared, and take our offering. While our offerings are small, the heart behind what the kids give is incredible. They get so EXCITED to give their money for offering!

Children's church offerings are designated for a specific mission oriented organization or cause with a worldwide children's focus. In 2017, the kids gave $50+ which was then sent to CAMA Services' Vietnamese Children's Project. For 2018, they are giving money to either be donated or put toward a shoe cutting party for Sole Hope

Following offering, we have our weekly video. These videos provide an entertaining introduction to the week's Big Idea, which prepare the kids for what will follow with the lesson.

Sometimes we have a game or activity that follows the video, and then we dive into the lesson. Children's Church at KWA uses the Elements Kids Worship curriculum. This curriculum has an established Element of the Month, which is the main topic that will be covered. To date, we have covered topics such as Purity, Self-Control, Service, Integrity, and Spiritual Gifts. Within each element, there are weekly Big Ideas (lesson focuses).

It is amazing to see the kids come alive and engage in praise and worship, as well as focus intently on the lessons. In fact, many of the kids remember ALL of the elements we've covered since we began!
